Aeryn Michelle Dursley, was born at 12:02 am, on the early morning of June 6th followed by her younger twin sister, Karisma Mae, born at Mercy Hospital Berwyn. They were normal healthy girls, and great in every way. Aeryn and her twin sister were very close, they would always be seen together or near by. All was well for the girls, so they thought.

On April 6th, two months before the twins 7th birthday, everything changed. The twins were playing out on the grass in the front lawn and their father was sitting on the porch, working on his latest book, “Insomnia Squared” A murder mystery novel. They were playing ball on the front lawn, and Aeryn threw it a little too hard. The red ball bounced into the street and into the gutter on the other side. “Go get it Kari!” Aeryn said, “Or are you scared?”. Karisma the more courageous of the two, smiled and ran to go and fetch it. As the 6 year old turned to run back, a car sped down the rode and hit the small girl. The sound of the impact and the screech of breaks is what alerted her father’s attention.

Aeryn and her father DeMetri ran to where Karisma laid looking almost lifeless. DeMitri grabbed up his daughter and drove the twins to MHB, but was too late. The impact was too strong and she couldn’t fight it, Karisma died laying strewn across her sisters lap on the drive there.

Little Aeryn’s life was changed drastically. She knew it was her fault, every thing was her fault. Even though no one really blamed her, she still knew it was her fault. Aeryn felt every emotion you could imagine that night as she stood with her ear to the door as her parents fought. Why wasn’t DeMitri being more carefull, and watching the children. Why wasn’t Gabrel home when she should have been. The thing that totally crashed on Aeryn was the mention of her name, ‘Why was she crossing the street, in the first place?’ Gabrel asked, ‘Aeryn’ DeMitri replied

Aeryn ran from the doorway and into the room she and Karisma shared, The six year old cried and cried knowing that she and her sister would never be together. It was what she had said that made Kari do it. She couldn’t stand to think that anyone else could get hurt by what she said so she vowed never to speak again.

Her parents got frightened about her sudden lack of speech, and had her enrolled in a sort of counseling. The counselor said it was post traumatic stress syndrome, that she blamed herself. Even through the constant saying that it wasn’t her mind never phased. Her parents, hoping that it would help, invited her cousin Avery to stay with them. His presence did nothing to help. When they were alone he would constantly make fun and blame her.

Now ten years later Aeryn is known as a ‘problem child’ The constant making fun of through her child hood and all of the gossip made her stand up for herself. Even if she couldn’t attack them verbally, she could still attack them physically. She was only just miss under stood.
