Ashton is a laid back kind of guy. Most of the times you cant tell whether or not hes being serious because he tends to either make himself sound as if hes being mock serious or he makes everything into some sarcastic comment. It doesnt help that he has a monotone voice and its hard to tell since his tone doesnt change that much. If he doesnt know how to say things he just resorts to being blunt. He figures at least then you know what the hell hes talking about and you cant really say you dont understand it. Ashton, you will find, is actually very cynical. He doesnt trust people at all and usually thinks they have some kind of motive behind everything they do and not necessarily a good motive. The only person he trusts completely is his best friend Abigail.

Ashton is the type that if you talk to him he will listen if he wants otherwise you just might be talking to a brick wall or he'll just tell you to fuck off. He can be a bit of an ass at times, but again he doenst care if it offends anyone. If he doesnt feel like talking or listening to someone then hes not going to sit through it. He can be a fun guy though and never turns down a party especially if it entails getting high or drunk even. Hes a bit of a drug addict though he will deny that through and through. Sure he'll admit to doing drugs, but if you tell him hes addicted to the stuff he will rip you a new one.

Ashton has a slight OCD problem, its not as bad as it had been before, but you will randomly find him fixing things if they are out of order and his area is usually always clean. Of course its not as intense as before so for thet most part he can control it, its just sometimes when hes not thinking about it that he does it. He hates situations when he doesnt feel like hes in control as well.

Ashton knows he likes guys as well as girls, but he so far hasnt been comfortable with being open about it in front of people. He wont really deny it if hes asked, he just wont openly show it. He has been trying to tell himself that its all in his head and one day he'll wake up and realize that it was just a phase, but he knows its not. Its just something thats been left over in his mind from his mother drilling it into his head that being with the same sex is bad. Ashton also does not talk about himself, if he does its just basic stuff otherwise anything that he finds is too much, he just changes the subject or drops the conversation.

Ashton grew up in a very religious family. He had no idea how his parents even seemed to meet since his mother was a devout Catholic and his father was a raging alcoholic. The sad thing was he went to church every sunday for her and made him come as well. Ashton was very confused as a child, not really agreeing with a lot of the things he was being taught in church and the schools he was going to, of course they were catholic schools. He didnt fit in at all and was very sheltered compared to the rest of the kids that lived on his block and even those at his school.

His mother made him read the bible every night and if he didnt she would hit his hands with a ruler several times and then make him sleep up in the attic without any food. It was cold in the attic and of course his imagination got the best of him upthere because of how scary it seemed to someone so young. His parents were not very supportive of anything he wanted to do, unless it had to do with the church and they were very much against gays. It hadnt been so bad until their neighbor decided to come out of the closet. His parents were so furious and they packed up and left within two weeks. Every night after that they would tell Ashton how wrong it was and that their neighbor was now going to hell. Then they would ask Ashton if he wanted to go to hell and of course Ashton would bow his head and tell them no.

When Ashton was fifteen his mother joined a misson and told his father that by the time she came back he had better made his peace with god and had been saved from his alcohol problem. She walked out the door and they never saw her again. His father had laughed at this and now that she was out the house let loose, drinking even more then usual. He made Ashton start working as soon as he became of age so they wouldnt lose the house and so he could pay for his alchohol. Unfortunatly a fifteen year old couldnt support all of that and they ended up losing the house and having to move into a trailor. His father was not too happy about that and 'punished' him.

Ashton felt as if he had no life and he did still go to church, but only because he hadnt heard from his mother in so long. Ashton really didnt know what to believe. He didnt exactly put god off the radar but he didnt devote his life to him either. A lot of the times he would stay after just so he wouldnt have to go home and deal with his father. Though after almost a year he gave up on his mother returning and he never went back to church. There was no point and it was because of god that his mother was gone now and he was left with his asshole of a father.

On one of the nights that his father came home really drunk, he was in the middle of 'punishing' Ashton when he ended up having a heart attack. His father didnt make it and Ashton was sent to live with his uncle. His uncle wasnt too happy about it and within the first couple of weeks hed already paid to get Ashton into a boarding school. The school was hell and hed tried to get his uncle to send him to a public school, but his uncle would have none of it. He didnt care he just wanted to have the illusion of not having Ashton there. Whenever Ashton was home it was like a warpath. His uncle turned him into his own little worker, making him do everything and he was constantly putting him down, yelling at him when things went wrong. Finally Ashton decided he wasnt going to deal with it any longer. He left his uncles, though afterwards he figured he should have stuck it out just to piss him off.

Ashton had only been out for a week when he found out about St. James. Figuring he'd take a shot he checked it out and ended up staying..
