[CYNICAL]
Damian tends to come off as a little cold and harsh. Why? Simply because he predetermines that he hates just about everyone. How people feel about him and what people think about him doesn't really matter. In this sense Damian blocks out the world and its opinions. He would rather think for himself than be controlled by a world that he doesn't trust. Damian also has a tendency to push his pessimism off on other people. Because he pays attention to people more than most people would ever think of doing he knows weaknesses and pressure points that some people can't help but show. Sometimes Damian will push these imaginary pressure points until the other person crumbles. It doesn't necessarily delight him to cause others misery, but he does occasionally get a certain amusement from it.

[SOULESS]
Damian tends to seem rather heartless. He has baffled therapists for years. Most figure that Damian is simply lacking in emotion because he lacks a soul (that was on the most extreme therapists mind). On some levels that may be true, but on most it’s not unless having a soul is the ability to choose between right and wrong. It’s hard to tell if Damian just doesn’t care or if it’s a mental thing. Even Damian is unsure of that. It is hard to unnerve damian,tell him his whole family is dead and he will only stare with a blank stare, but ask him if he would like to do something exciting and new, then he would greet you with a sadistic grin.

[ANALYTICAL]
Generally Damian watches people like a hawk, taking in their every word, action, and puts the people into categories. He silently judges people without intentions of using said judgements. If the judgement is negative from the get go, which most are, then expect a rather cold shoulder from Damian. This is the part of him that has started most of the rumors about him. People have said everything from Damian being a murder to Damian escaping from prison, to Damian working for a local gang. He absolutely loves hearing the best rumors that people can come up with. Damian would never tell anyone the real reason he left home because he likes hearing the people think he's just that creepy.

[UNTRUSTING]
He’s clever and logical and he always thinks a move ahead of his opponents. Because words are rare from this fella, he has time to think about what he needs to say and how he needs to say it. Damian doesn’t waste time and he never feels the need to mess around with things that are boring. Life for Damian is rather on the boring side, but things to get boring when there’s hardly anyone to pose a challenge. He thrives off being hated because he doesn’t have to care about it and he couldn’t care less about what people thought about him. Damian believed that life is like a battle royale. There may only be one person left standing… friends, peers, family, groups, individuals, girls, boys, teachers, leaders, doctors… none of them could be trusted. His mind brings a whole new level to the ‘dog eats dog’ theory. Damian refuses to be the eaten. This doesn’t mean that he will go about taking out the competition, but it does mean that he will do what it takes to ensure his own survival.

[THOUGHTS]
Damian’s actions can be prompted by a simple thought crossing his mind. He may wonder exactly what it’s like to kiss someone and act upon impulse of the thought. There are plenty of things that Damian has done just to see what it felt like. He might take an attitude of ‘that might be fun’ or ‘I wonder…’ generally these thoughts never end well for anyone that is not Damian. This has Damian a little shell shocked, though he would never admit it. Sometimes he cannot control the impulse of emotion coming from holding back some of those emotions. He may have a random burst of happiness or anger or depression for no apparent reason.

Janet and John Ritter met in quite the unexpected fashion. John Ritter was a successful business man in Berlin, Germany. He had the country at his finger tips and could smooth talk anyone to get what he wanted. The thing about John Ritter was that he was oddly corrupt in his dealings. On this side Ritter sold drugs. Mostly narcotics and depressants, but drugs nonetheless. This was when he met his future wife, Janet Ritter. John had been dealing with her father under the table for years and had finally gotten to meet the one person Mr.Gustav would let no man meet. Janet Gustav fell in love with John Ritter. The drug business was forgotten and the two of them settled down in Berlin to sort their lives out and become the family both of them dreamed of. Two years after their marriage a son was born to them. They called him Damian Seth Ritter.

[AND SOMETHING GOES WRONG]
When Damian was small, only around three years old, Germany's economy became pretty bad. The Ritters were forced to look for a home elsewhere because Berlin was becoming a place of crime rather than a place of security and family values. They moved to a small town outside of Berlin and hoped that everything would be fine. Damian, the oddly silent child, was not accounted for in the move. Instead of sitting in the car like his parents had asked him to Damian had gotten out and wandered about the streets of Berline. As a child of only three Damian saw some pretty down to earth things. As soon as the Ritters realized their son was not with them they immediately returned, grabbed Damian and left. Berlin was left behind for good.

[SUCH A STRANGE BOY]
Damian was a strange boy for sure. He never smiled or laughed like a normal child would and he never made an attempt to be social with anyone. For the lingest time his parents wondered if he could talk or if it was just that he wouldn't. Even the people in the twon began to talk. At first people began to thing that Damian could just be a little slower than other children, but when he was five years old and enrolled in school it became clear that Damian was not intellectually or mentally challenged in any way. This had people stumped. The Ritters, worried about Damian, decided that it was the country that was doing Damian wrong. It was decided that when John could come across enough money they would move to America so that their son wouldn't be pressured by the country.

[THE HAPPY FAMILY]
Damian was 12 years old when he moved to America. John and Janet were under the impression that they had done a good thing for their son, but Damian didn't seem to change. His parents did the best they could to provide a nice, happy home for Damian, despite his distant personality. The only time his parents could get him to do anything was when they offered to let him try something new, which would only be greeted with a 'that might be fun'. Damian never wanted the happy family and he didn't want to be happy. That was something that his parents couldn't understand. Another year passed and John and Janet were still having a hard time forcing happiness on Damian. They pressured him to make friends and become social, telling him that a boy his age should be perfectly fine with making friends, but Damian was not impressed with the people in Chicago, Illinois.

[HIGH SCHOOL]
High school was another experience that Damian was just curious about. Many of the other students were afraid of Damian because he tended to come off as intimidating and dangerous. This was more amusing to Damian than anything. He enjoyed hearing the rumors people would make up about him. But this was where Damian got the bright idea of becoming a run away. Damian didn't do this right away. He took time to think and plan. He didn't intend on diving head first into the world when he was only 16 years old. The plans formed in his head for a few months before Damian came home from school one night, grabbed some stuff he considered to be relatively valuable to himself, put them in a backpack and left.

[CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT]
Damian was very intuitive on the streets. It wasn't hard for him to know exactly what to do. Of course, Damian was also aware that he had to avoid the police because his parents had put out a search party for him. But Damian didn't want to be found. He continued to live that life for a year, making money on the side by using random business skills he had managed to learn from his father. Damian first heard about St. John's from a man that had seen Damian sitting on a park bench. Damian had recieved the man's advice about attending the instiution and only greeted the man with a blank, uncaring stare. He wasn't a big fan of advice or being told what to do. Damian finally decided that the institution might be worth checking out. He took the address the man had given him and headed that way.

So Damian ended up enrolling in St. John's Institution. It didn't seem to be much different than the world to Damian, but it would give him a place to sleep that was comfortable enough. He treated the institution like he had every other place; with a cold reguard and instant dislike for everyone. Not many bothered to talk to him, which was perfectly fine with Damian. To this day Damian still stays at St. John's, though like high school, people had managed to make up their own minds and rumors about him.
