and in my honest observation during this operation found a complication in your heart, so long OUTFIT The day had started out pretty rough for Peter. He knew Ashton was upset about the whole swimming thing. All the sarcasm in the chat had been too much for him to handle. Peter didn't like taking Ashton's sarcasm like that. He just wished Ashton would tell him how he felt about it. At least that way they could work it out or something. Peter just didn't feel right about outcasting Alex. The more Peter thought about it, the more he realized that it did look bad for him to be going out alone with his ex. It really was no wonder that Ashton had reacted the way he did. Peter felt stupid for agreeing to the swimming thing. What had he been thinking? Usually Peter would try and be more careful about things, but something about talking to Alex had felt so natural. The saying old habits die hard came to his mind and he didn't like that at all.
Peter lay on his bed, fully dressed, just thinking about things. He didn't want to get online and risk Ashton being on. Things had gotten so... weird. Lately it seemed like Ashton was trying to come up with every excuse he could as to an eventual break up. But Peter didn't want to think that it could end so soon. He stared at his ceiling, wondering if it had been him that had messed everything up. If only he didn't have a tendency to run away from his problems... then he might not be in the situation he was in. Peter clenched his bed sheets, hating the direction that his thoughts had decided to go in. Peter thought about how much he had gotten closer to Ashton. It was almost a scary thought. To think that before he had been so scared to believe in love because he didn't want to get hurt. Now... Peter knew he loved Ashton. There was no doubt about that... but he was surprised it happened so fast.
Naturally Peter didn't get too far into his thoughts as he felt a warmth on his face. Peter laughed and opened his eyes, seeing Hobo sitting on his chest. "HOBABY!" Peter exclaimed, hugging the puppy. He wrinkled his nose as he looked at the puppy. "You always know when to lather my face with slober, don't you, baby girl?" Peter stroked Hobo, causing the dog to stretch out before curling up on Peter's chest. "Me and you are going swimming today." He explained crarefully. "Alex is bringing izzy. You'll have another dog to play with." Hobo lifted her head, but shifted back to where she was laying comfortably on Peter's chest. He thought about what ashton said about them being practically married... like the animals were their children. Peter didn't see what was so wrong with that. Unless Ashton was tired of sharing... gosh, Peter couldn't stop the rampage his thoughts were on.
"At least you can't hurt me, Hobaby." Peter said frailly as he sat up and held Hobo in his arms. "You and Ash are the best things to happen to me in a long time." He told the dog seriously. "Don't tell anyone, Hobes, but I'm in love with your other owner... but between me and you, buddy, i'm afraid." Peter liked talking to Hobo... getting things out in the open that he couldn't tell anyone else. It felt nice. Peter had someone to talk to and that was just what he needed. He ruffled Hobo's fur with a small smile. "Don't worry, I love you too, girl." Peter put her down on the bed and stood. He needed to find something to do that would occupy his time. There was no telling when Alex would show up and he needed to be ready. Peter had promised to be prepared.

losing half a year, waiting for you here i be your anything Izzy ran around his dorm room in circles briskly, leash trailing behind the dog while barking at Alex as he sat at his desk writing a note. With a black sharpie he wrote, 'Game on, petabear,' with a smiley face added on at the end. He had made the mistake in his earlier copy of drawing on a heart at the end, which he had quickly thrown out. Peter and him were on 'friend' grounds at this time. He constantly had to remind himself this wasn't a date. It was just like all those other times in high school before they became a couple, where they just sort of hung out. Alex knew the consequences if he suddenly jumped the gun and began flirting more than a friend. If anything, Peter would catch wind that something wasn't right and end whatever connection he had been able to revive. It was a relief enough that Peter didn't completely ignore or shun him. When he first saw Peter here that had been his worst fear. All the stuff of the past would be thrown on the table and Peter would think he was still the big jerk that had cheated on him. As he placed the cap back on the sharpie he felt his grip around it tightened. The memory of that sick event still stuck in his head. He could swear he could still taste the boy's lips he had used in order to get Peter to hate him and end there relationship. For once, Alex hated doing such a good job.
His dog's barking brought him back to reality and he leaned down to pet the dog's head. The dog only stood still for a few seconds before running to the door and scratching at it. Alex had been prepared to go swimming all day and he knew the suspense was killing Izzy. He loved trips and how his owner was dilly-dallying was like a cruel torture. “Alright, Iz. Let me just empty my pockets and grab everything I need,” he said with a bright smile. Getting up from his chair he walked over to the bathroom and picked up a whole metal pan full of water balloons. He couldn't find a water gun on such short notice, but he was sure these babies would definitely surprise Peter. As he carried them back into his room he set the pan on the bed before checking each pocket. Lint and more lint. He definitely didn't want to bring his cell phone or any electronic devices. He had wanted to come back soaking, and he was still prepared too. He had decided to wear a pair of skinny jeans, a white t-shirt with black writing, and studded belt. His tattoos that ran down his arms were happily shown off and Alex had acknowledged that when a white t-shirt got wet it was see through. Like Peter had mentioned before, he did play dirty.
Grabbing the note, he placed in on top of the water balloon and then opened the door with his other hand. Alex wasn't exactly following leash laws, but Izzy was trained well enough to not leave his side. Until he delivered the note he'd need a free hand. Walking down the hall, Izzy began sniffing the door and whining slightly. It was obvious he still remember Peter from his puppyhood. “Ssshh.” he said with a smirk, taking the note down and leaving it by the door. After he knocked on the door he began bristly walking down the hall, wanting to get to lake before Peter would have a chance. As he started his journey he felt odd eyes shift towards him, mostly on the water balloons. Being as confident as he was, Alex simply waved to the people staring or even greeted them by name. A lot of people at St. John's were surprised by how quickly he picked up things. Already he was a popular guy at the institute, and had any person that didn't hate him under his thumb. It wasn't hard. He just had to maintain that sweet guy routine and no one could pass up being his 'friend'. The happiness Peter had caused this week by planning this outing had only made it more genuine.
Before he knew it he was at the lake, letting his brown eyes look over the shore to find a good place to hide. Seeing some trees he walked over towards them, placing the water balloons out of view behind the big trunk. Then he himself sat down, while Izzy stared at him impatiently. “Alright, you can run around, but don't give a way my position,” he sternly told the dog before breaking into a smile. It was hard for him to ever be serious around Izzy. He was just so cute and really the only family he could trust. Clipping off his leash he watched as the dog began running around, skimming the shore and barking at the small waves that tried to get him wet. Laughing softly he wondered how long it would take Peter to get here. The fear biting on the back of his mind was he wasn't home... or worse. He was with Ashton. That temper he had been locking up arose for those seconds as his fist curled and his other hand dug into the dirt. He hated Ashton. The way he talked, the way he treated Peter, the way he acted like such an ass to him when he didn't do anything. Even Alex pretended to be nice. Ashton didn't pretend shit. It always aggravated him how he talked to Peter like he was under him or something. Alex wanted to believe Peter deserved so much better. Maybe not him, but at least someone who give him the type of love and respect that Peter should have. Alex knew in his conscious he was just telling himself this to make the guilt of destroying there relationship less painful, but at the same time he believed there was some truth in what he thought. Ashton was just an asshole that Peter didn't need.
Hopefully one day soon his ex would realize that...

and in my honest observation during this operation found a complication in your heart, so long OUTFIT Peter had been in such a daze, sitting there, petting Hobo and thinking about random things. That was what he did when he was alone and had nothing better to do. He would sit on his bed and think. The knock on the door had almost been missed, but Peter shook his head and stood. That was it... it had to be. Peter licked his lips as he walked anxiously to the door and opened it. Hobo rushed up behind him, crawling through his legs to sniff at the note. Bending down, Peter picked up the note before Hobo could get any ideas about eating it. He smiled. Alex used the pet name that Peter had loved to hear. Petabear had been the name Peter would listen for every single day. On the days he did get to go to school, he would expected petabear! to be screamed at him first thing. All of that had seemed so real... so enjoyable... yet it hadn't been in the end.
After a minute of staring at the note Peter frowned. All of it had been a freaking lie. All of the petnames, the 'i love you's, the talking, the holding hands, the laughing... all of it. For a second Peter felt his heart hurt. He looked down to Hobo, who was sitting at his feet. "Guess I better get ready, right girl?" Hobo barked and ran back inside. Peter shut the door and walked slowly to his closet, laying the note down on his bed. He moved toward his closet picking out a pair of skinny jeans and a dark gray t-shirt. As he moved to the desk to get Hobo's leash he grabbed a pair of sunglasses that he had lucked up with and slipped them on. They were so hot on him. Peter just couldn't help but want to wear them now that he had the perfect opportunity. He turned back to Hobo and shook his head. "You ready, Hobes?" He asked, smiling as Hobo barked excitedly. "That's what I thought."
Peter latched the leash to Hobo's collar and and headed toward the door, Hobo walking briskly at his side. He didn't have a clue as to what to expect. As usual Peter had walked into something that he wasn't even aware of how to handle. Passing a few of his friends, Peter waved happily and smiled. His mind wasn't in waving at his friends, it was on more of how he would handle this situation he was in. Peter promised himself that it wouldn't be compromising. He would act just like Ashton could pop in at any second. It would be possible. Ashton knew where they were going... he just didn't know when. Cheating was something that Peter would never do. He knew how it felt to be cheated on and he wouldn't ever make anyone else feel that way. He wished that he had spent more time convincing Ashton that he was just going with Alex as a friend. It wasn't a date.
All Peter was doing was making Alex feel more at home. Peter could remember when he had first arrived at SJI. No one had expected a guy quite like Peter to show up. But it didn't take long before Peter had gotten the hang of things. People were pretty accepting of Peter because he was so genuine. Cait had taken a while to get used to him, but eventually she became one of his best friends. Then there was Taylor, who Peter wouldn't trade for the world. The thoughts had Peter so distracted that he hadn't even realized that he had reached the lake area. Peter glanced around nervously. He always had to be careful about going out in public more because his dad could be lurking around any corner. That was just one thing that Peter was a little paranoid about.
Peter walked around, finally spotting Alex. He smiled for a moment, but reminded himself that he didn't need to get too comfortable. With a glance down to Hobo Peter gently shushed the puppy. He tip-toed toward Alex. As he got a little closer Peter knelt down and unleashed Hobo's leash. Peter watched Alex carefully, taking in the jeans and the t-shirt. Alex's tatoos were really noticeable. He drew in a deep breath as Hobo bolted off to join Izzy, barking happily. Peter walked up next to Alex, glancing at him through the sunglasses. He then slipped off the glasses and tossed them back on the grass. "Hey there, baby bear." Peter said with a smile. He loved that little rhyme. But Peter chided himself for using the pet name. He would need to stop that.
"I can't wait to see what you got up you sleeve." Peter chuckled as he reached up and tugged at Alex's sleeve. "Your non-existant sleeve, I mean."
