Quiet. Everyone who knows Kelevra knows that he’s the quiet kid. It’s just a matter of weather or not he’s quiet for good or bad reasons. People who don’t really know him would tell you the rumors that have been floating around and that the whole incident is what keeps him quiet. Quiet in a maniacal way. The people who do know Kelevra know that he’s simply quiet because he’d rather people fear him for what they think is true rather than attempt to explain the truth that they won’t believe anyway.

Tough. This is yet another common misconception among people when it comes to Kelevra. The only difference is that the second side is actually only seen by Kelevra himself. Everyone (friends, enemies, acquaintances, adults, etc.) all see Kelevra as a tough guy who is willing to drop everything and fight if the need arises. That’s exactly what he wants people to see. The real side of Kelevra, that most people don’t know, is that it’s all a front. Kelevra just doesn’t want anyone to get close to him ever. He feels that he’s better on his own and only acts tough to keep people away.

Intense. This word is the single most used to describe Kelevra. His eyes are, more often than not, completely fixated onto a single point as he concentrates diligently on whatever it is that has him caught up that moment. Most people know that once Kelevra has found something to concentrate on, it’s hard to separate him from it until he’s completely intent with what he’s done and there’s nothing left to figure out.

Where exactly are you supposed to start with someone like Kelevra? Do you start with his parents? Him? The new boyfriend? The second marriage? The second divorce? The accident? Maybe one would even go so far to start at his admission. What about you? Where are you going to start? I’m starting at his parents, so keep with me on this back story. It gets a little rough around the edges in the middle.

Kelevra is, for all intents and purposes, an accident. His mother made a drunken decision to bring a guy home and have an unprotected wild night. Naturally, the man was gone by the time she woke up. Not thinking twice about it, Samantha went about her life as she usually would. However, her world was thrown a bit off track as she realized she was, not only late, but feeling sick. After a few home pregnancy tests and a doctor's visit, Sam found she was, indeed, pregnant. She couldn't handle the notion of abortion, so she carried the baby to term and had Kelevra Shane Brik.

Even though she had the baby, Sam was not his biggest fan. For the most part she simply did her parental duties enough to pass as a good parent. There was never anything extra thrown Kelevra's way, but he didn't mind. He went to public school and spent his free time playing sports or making friends. He was a decent kid. Never did any wrong (unless you count the one time he got so mad on the soccer field he tackled someone from the other team and punched him). All he wanted was a bit of his mother's attention. And that was what he got. A bit. No more and no less.

As Kelevra got older he demanded less attention, according to his mother. She was still young, so her hunt for a husband went on as her soon slowly began taking care of himself, essentially. There was one man that stuck around awkwardly long. He was not scared off by 14 year old Kelevra like most men were. No no. This man was different. Josh Alpert. He came into the family and took over, in a way. It wasn't long before he popped the question and married Samantha. Kelevra (who was now being referred to as "bad dog," the meaning of his name, by Josh) had no say even though he was 16. In fact, he was pushed away from his family. This made his rage grow... and for a boy afflicted with blackout rage, that's never a good idea.

However, nothing gold can stay.

After just two years of marriage, Josh left. Divorce. Naturally this crushed Samantha, so she dealt with it accordingly. Hiding in her room and leaving Kelevra to his own devices. He was okay with this for a bit since he was 18, but he was unable to go off to college. Instead he got a minimum wage job and stuck around to help his mother recuperate. Naturally, once she recovered, he expected her to thank him or treat him better. Something along those lines. Neither happened.

Shortly after his nineteenth birthday Samantha seemed to get over her issues and stop feeling sorry for herself. So that was it. Kelevra was, once again, useless to her. Being that he'd suppressed rage for four and a half years with Josh, the ignorance and cruelty of his mother was the push he didn't need. In a fit of rage (also known as the last blackout before his admission), Kelevra managed to kill his own mother. A cutting board and twelve blows to the head (one for each year she didn't care about him). There was a lot of yelling and crying, but nothing equaled the pain Kelevra himself felt once he came back from wherever he went during his blackout.

Realizing what he'd done to his own mother, he quickly called 911 and turned himself in. There was no way he could ever forgive himself. The cops quickly showed up and arrested Kelevra, who turned himself in. His lawyer played very heavily on the mentally unstable card. This got him a one way ticket to a correctional facility instead of prison.

St. John's. Kelevra has made a few friends, but no one knows the truth of why he's here. People just know "he's the guy who killed someone." He plays tough because he doesn't want to hurt anyone else, but in actuality he's lonely. There are a few people he talks to, but he's usually rather shady about his past. People here don't care about the details. It's why he likes it.
